Custom ROMs, a creative innovation by CynogenMod has become so popular that flashing your android device is being done by everyone but the de-merit associated with this process is that one loose his stable ROM after getting a custom ROM, so there is an android app called “Boot Manager” which allows us to install the new ROMs to our SD card and let us left with our stable ROM also.
- Android 2.1 + versions are capable for this install.
- HTC devices like Desire, Desire HD, Inspire, Thunderbolt, Vision, EVO (4G) have been tested with this install and it was a success so the case should be with other devices.
Essential guidelines to carry out install:-
- Rooting your android device before this installation process.
- Boot Manager should be installed and must be downloaded from a trusted source like Android Market.
- Current stable ROM is to be backed up by using ROM manager.
- Custom ROMs which is to be installed should be copied to your SD card.
Process of Installing Multiple ROMs:-
- Boot Manager is our essential tool in this process and must be installed.
- During installing Process of boot manager, one should create a backup of Boot.img whenever it is asked before any custom ROM is installed.
- Install ROMs must be selected as shown above in image after backing up the boot.img
- The custom ROM which is to be installed should be selected from zip file from SD card and user must check all the three boxes of wipe cache, wipe data and wipe system.
- After few minutes when new ROM is installed, Boot manager asks the permission to get access to your ROM for its booting.
- Once you are done with this process, you can install as many custom ROMs up to 4 with this Boot manager and now you can install Google’s official apps to your new ROM.
