Update Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread on Samsung Mesmerize (How to)

Wait is over for the Samsung mesmerize users; Samsung has released software for the US cellular which will update your Samsung SCH-I500 (Mesmerize) to Android 2.3.4 software Version SCH-I500.EH09.

The updation has some requirements: -

This update needs a laptop/desktop which must be running on either Microsoft windows 7, Vista or XP.
Every firewall & antivirus must be disabled
Administrative privileges are required to download and install software including drivers
USB 2.0 supportive port
Your phone must be fully charged before updating
Needs a USB cable
Usb hub or docking station should be avoided.

Back up your data

Sync your Google accounts and exchange mail accounts and store them remotely on google and Microsoft exchange server.

1. For Gmail

Go to Menu >Settings > Accounts & Sync
Touch Google account so that it will display you the Data & Synchronization screen.
Check mark to the data you want to sync
Touch Menu and Sync Now

2. Exchange Mail

Go to Menu >Settings > Accounts & Sync
Touch Exchange account so that it will display you the Data & Synchronization screen.
Check mark to the data you want to sync
Touch Menu and Sync Now

3. Save contacts to SD Card

Go to Contacts > menu
Touch Import/Export and then Export to SD card
Confirm it by Ok

Store all your pictures, videos, music in SD card and remove your SD card before start the updates.
Forward your important messages to email address.
You must download all the applications which are previously downloaded from the android market. To re-download applications follow the steps
Go to applications > Market > Menu > My Apps
Sign in to your Google account credentials, if prompted.
You can see the list of paid applications and for free applications; you have to search and install again.
Check your Current version on your US Cellular SCH-I500 Mesmerize, Go to Menu >Settings >about phone

Steps to update android 2.3.4 gingerbread on your Samsung Mesmerize.

Download the software upgrade tool and save a file to the desktop.
Close all the programs
Click on the set up icon to run the install shield wizard.
The install shield wizard will install upgrade tool on your pc.
Select Next to continue
Select Install to begin.
You have successfully installed the upgrade tool now click on Yes, I want to restart my computer now and finish.
Click on the icon installed on your desktop.
Select Next
Check on the button “I accept the terms in the license agreement.” And then select next.
It will show you a warning to synchronize your data on mobile and to charge fully before heading forward. Select next.

Go to menu > USB settings > Samsung KIES. Select next

To Confirm Go to Menu > Settings >About phone
The version will be updated to SCH-I5900.EH09.
