There are many Android Honeycomb tablets are available in the market which offer you stunning features. Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Motorola XOOM Tablet are two of those tablets and both of them are great. Let’s compare every important aspect of these tablets and get an idea about them.

Design

Both the devices weight 730 grams. Despite of these, they are slightly different in size. Acer Iconia Tab A500 has a dimension of 260 x 177 x 13.3 mm which is slightly less than the dimension of Motorola XOOM Tablet. Dimension of the second tablet is 241.2 x 185.7 x 8.8 mm which is slim enough too.

Display

When it comes to screen size, both the tablets stand at same place with 10 inch screen. XOOM supports 16 millions colors when the other tablet supports 256K colors. Both the tablets have TFT screens but only Acer Iconia comes with many screen sensors which the XOOM lacks. However, the picture quality is great in both the tablets.

Camera   

Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Motorola XOOM Tablet both have 5MP cameras. Acer Iconia Tab A500 has a LED flashlight that makes it easier to take photos in low light. Motorola XOOM Tablet comes with Geo-tagging for your photos. It has dual Led flashlights for better image quality. Both the tablets record HD videos. They have a 2MP front camera for video calling.

Operating System

The tablets are operated with Android Honeycomb 3.1 OS. The XOOM can be updated with the latest updated Android Honeycomb 3.2 OS which cannot be installed on the second tablet. You can have fun of this Android OS version by installing many great apps which are available for Android tablets. Iconia has some tweaks installed for a better service from the OS. XOOM has changed the interface of the OS a bit to make it more attractive.

Connectivity

Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Motorola XOOM Tablet both are great when it comes to connectivity. Both have Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity which makes them great for fast networking. They have Wi-Fi hotspot too which can connect multiple Wi-Fi devices with the tablets. Both of them also have Bluetooth and GPS which are common in high end tablets these days.

Memory

XOOM is more capable when it comes to internal memory. It comes in 3 versions haven 16, 32 and 64GB internal memory for you. Iconia, on the other hand, comes in two versions which are 16 and 32GB. The memory card facility is there in both the devices. You can add a 32GB external card in the microSD memory card slot.

Processor

Both Acer Iconia Tab A500 and Motorola XOOM Tablet have Dual core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A9 processor which is extremely powerful in terms of processing. Both have 1GB of RAM when the XOOM has a DDR2 RAM. Iconia has a Tegra 2 T20 chipset which makes it a more powerful tablet than XOOM.

Battery

Iconia has two 3260 mAh batteries when the XOOM comes with two 3250mAh batteries. They both can run for 10 hours with continues use.
