Sony-Ericsson-W8-TipsIn order to work or play for long hours on the W8 Sony Ericsson, proper battery management is needed.

1)      The Sony Ericsson W8 is equipped with Wi-Fi support. When you turn ON the Wi-Fi for internet browsing, don’t forget to turn it OFF once you are done as leaving the Wi-Fi ON drains the phones battery. You can also use a feature called Time-out , which enables the phone to auto switch off the Wi-Fi  when it is not in use for a set period of time and by doing this you can save some amount of battery power . You can access the Time-out feature by navigating Wi-Fi settings tab and then pressing the menu button .here you will be able to manually select a timeout option for the Wi-Fi connection.

2)      Keeping a brighter display levels drains the battery faster. To reduce the battery drain, maintain your brightness level at minimal levels.

3)      The Sony Ericsson W8 is equipped with GPS support. While this feature is turned ON, it starts searching for the location continuously by searching for the required satellite signals.  By disabling the GPS you can save a small amount of battery power. It is recommended that the GPS be used only when outdoors as when inside satellite signal reception is poor which results in the phone using more battery power to amplify the signals.

4)      In android phones most applications enable ‘check for updates’ as the default setting. These updates run in the background draining the battery fast. To avoid power wastage simply disable these settings.

5)      By using the advanced task killer applications to kill processes running in the background you can limit the amount of processing power the phone has to use thereby saving battery power.

6)      Bluetooth 2.1 support helps in data transfer between devices or for multimedia purposes. When the Bluetooth is turned ON for transferring data, switch OFF the Bluetooth settings after its usage. Avoid using Bluetooth headset or headphones instead use wired headphones since while the Bluetooth is ON considerable amount of battery power is used.

7)      If you are not using the 3G network availability in your phone then switch your network settings to 2G mode since 3G network uses most of the power of the phone when compared to 2G network. Use the 3G network only if you are subscribed on a 3G plan.

8)      Avoid the use of animated themes and live wall paper because animated themes and wall papers use more battery power.

9)      Always check your battery usage levels by installing apps that are designed to measure batter consumption.
