Creating Panoramic image [How to]

The panoramic image displays the wide area that a normal image can never display. People love shooting wide pictures, for which many small frame images are clicked first; next these pictures are joined to make a full wider view of the area in single picture. This panoramic picture is not so easily made. Creating panoramic pictures requires special skills and processing the images for full panoramic view pictures need some knowledge of image processing software. One such popular software is Photoshop for processing pictures. There are lot more editors but Photoshop is the most popular and gives nice results.

Some requirements for shooting great pictures are:-

  • For clicking, the camera should be of good quality. High in megapixels, diameter of lens, nice ISO and shutter speed are some essential traits of a good camera.
  •  Fixing the camera on tripod allows least disturbance in the quality due to any shake or something. Stability matters a lot while taking shots for panorama as even a little deviation destroys the view.  The accuracy increases significantly with a tripod fixed camera. The panoramic pictures clicked should be efficient enough to provide the wide panoramic picture on joining using image editor software.

The panoramic pictures can even be clicked such that they provide the whole 360 degrees view of a place. Next, the picture needs a good editing in Photoshop. For editing pictures do as directed:-

  • Open the Photoshop window; here open all the pictures taken to create a panorama in sequence of arrangement in different layers. Sequential alignment is very crucial; otherwise, the panorama will get disturbed.
  •  Now, choose the auto align option in the edit menu of Photoshop and afterwards go for the auto option in the dialog box. This displays the pictures joined to each other in order.
  • The images now require some nice cropping to cut out the waste parts of the picture and therefore to create a good panoramic picture. Crop the parts that are of no use using the options to crop the picture. Carefully crop the picture because the quality has a great dependence on the cropping of the picture. A slight bad cropping and the picture is of no use. Cropping requires some practice for efficient results.
