The LG Optimus 2x P990 is a great smart phone that has a dual core processor and many more great features. Now you can install the new version of Clock Work Mod Recovery in your phone and make it better.

Installing the CWMR in your LG Optimus 2x P990

• Download the CWMR zip file in your computer and save it on your desktop. Right click on it and select extract here. This will extract the files on your desktop where it’s easy to locate and use them.
• Your LG Optimus 2x P990 has a USB Debugging option under the Applications menu. Turn the option on first and the use the USB cable to connect your phone to the computer that you are using.
• Among the extracted files you will see a file named install-clockworkmod-windows.bat. this is the file that is required for the installation of VWMR. Once you are sure that you have the file than you can go for installing it.

Procedure to update the phone  

• You need to run your LG Optimus 2x P990 in recovery mode. Turn the phone off and turn it on again while holding the Volume Down button and the Home key together. This will start your phone in download mode and you can go ahead and work with it.
• Download the LG Optimus 2x P990 Recovery Boot tool from internet and install it. You can find it in the Android Marketplace. This tool can help you with flashing your device easily.
• Find the Smart Flash Tool designed for the LG Optimus 2x P990 and download it. You will also need Smart Flash Drivers which you will easily find by searching online. Download it along with another file named besebend file. All these are needed to complete the procedure.
• Once you have downloaded the files you must go one with the uses of the files. First find the SmartFlashTool_P990.exe file which you have just downloaded and run it in your PC. It will finish the needed actions soon and will indicate you.
• Once that’s done, turn off the LG Optimus 2x P990. Turn it on again while pressing the Home key and the Volume Down button together. This will start your phone in the download mode again. Make sure that the phone is connected with your PC.
• Now as you turn the phone in download mode you will see that the previously opened window on your PC will indicate that the phone is connected to the computer. When the application finds you phone, you will be ready to set the new firmware.
• Make sure that all the default options of the app is selected as otherwise your phone will not be updated. Once you find that all the options are right, you can click ROM Copy Download button.
• Locate the CP Bin on the app window and then click the brows button next to it. Select the FLS file from the extracted files now and press Ok. Once the file is loaded, click Start and the process will start. It will be finished within few minutes and your Optimus 2x P990 will be flashed.
