Its goodbye time to Sony Ericsson Sync Service and all you androidxpert readers welcome the Google sync on Sony Ericsson Android Handsets. The migration is only for the Android handsets and for user convenience instructions are also given on the official site. Last week , the Sony Ericsson Company Confirmed that they are phasing out Sony Ericsson Sync service on 29th November; recommending Google and other companies along with that. By making a statement they said “Sony Ericsson Sync service was meant for old generation phones and our aim is to create a more enhanced and integrated smartphone experience for you”. And for an alternative Sony Ericsson also suggest Google Sync ,there are other alternative that Sony Ericsson suggest they are Plaxo and UNYK .
To use Google sync on Sony Ericsson Android Handsets there are set of instruction which you have to do. There are two methods to sync your contacts, we,ll be discussing both the methods below.
Transfer in Android Phone
- First you have to Back up your contacts and memory Card and export them.
- Imports the contacts at the desired place. (Do not use the Sony Ericsson Sync ML account.)
- Select “Import vCard file” and the file that you have created above.
Transfer from Web
- First you need to go to www.sonyericsson.com/user and login to your Sony Ericsson Sync account.
-  Go to “Contacts” view and Select “Import/Export” button  then “Export to vCard” and you need to Save “contacts.vcf” file.
The last and final step is to Import contacts to Google Sync.
- For this you need to Go to http://www.gmail.com Log in to your Google account
- Then move to “Contacts” view and Select “More”
- Next you need to select “Import” and “Browse”
- And then you have to Find and select the contacts.vcf file that you have already created
- Then Select “Import” and Check that contacts are correctly imported
- You need to make sure you have the Google account sync enabled in your phone (go to Settings > Accounts & sync)
