Nova Launcher Beta App for Ice Cream Sandwich!

One of the cool things about the Ice Cream Sandwich as the open-source is that anybody can improve and tweak upon it. Many users from the Forum of XDA Developers want to make this quite a lot; the latest twist which is for its stock Launcher on this Ice Cream Sandwich devices. (Means that it will not run on devices with the Ice Cream Sandwich devices as of now)

You can see some changes that were made at the Launcher for this Ice Cream Sandwich such as the ability in adding widgets along the widgets menu or its permanent menu in a home screen. This Nova Launcher really improves back the capability to long click at a home screen just to add 3D home screen transitions, widget and its ability to get the locked Google menu search removed, as example.

This must take only some time before the stock launcher Ice Cream Sandwich will be improved on. Several of you may not be too excited to find that the long pressing in the home screen will no longer provide you a widgets menu and that you can only add them via the application drawer. But all these frustrations will be set aside when you load up the latest launcher in the block named Nova Launcher. This is the Ice Cream Sandwich-based (must be running ICS to begin using this) and builds simply on the launcher by adding in tons of customizable options.

Remember that when you install this Nova Launcher just like the regular .apk, you will lose your capability to add widgets along its normal menu widgets. When you like to retain its ability to use the menu at its stock widgets, you need to install Nova Launcher through its Recovery tool Clockwork.

The thing that many users like in Android may be its ability to replace your own Launcher with the custom application. By doing this you can customize as well as personalize your own smartphone in many ways that are not quite possible with the stock launcher. When you install then you have some options. To be able to make the widgets menu to work within the application drawer, this application must be installed in /system/app that may not be done by just installing this .apk.

Ist Option- (menu widget not working) – You must install the .apk like you do all the time in an .apk. The menu widgets at the app drawer will never function at this way though.

2^nd Option -( menu widget working). You will have to download them install the file (‘Zip Install’) via the Clockwork recovery. Then download in to the phone then reboot in Recovery via ROM Manager, then ‘install zip from the SD card’ and select the NovaLauncherUpdate.zip. When you want to remove this, just repeat the steps but you choose instead the NovaUninstall.zip.

This Nova Launcher has been based in the ICS stock launcher and anyway but provides you several features that a stock launcher do not give you.’

• For auto-rotate use setting (default  5×4 in this Galaxy Nexus)
• For automatic-rotate – just have the User setting.
• You must resize a widget
• And the all//downloaded/new categories in the Application drawer.
• From system picker for widgets in the drawer (required install as the system app) or along the system picker.
• You must shortcut or resizable Information in the Widget drawer.
• Then edit Shortcut icon App as well as the label (that supports ADW Icon Packs)
• Scrolling options Wallpaper (disabling scrolling will improve performance of five wallpapers.
