Several owners of this Lenovo Thinkpad tablet who has been long in waiting for the process to root their devices … the fact, this situation is just desperate for some which some has a bounty made of $785 for this rooting. Somehow, Dan Rosenberg and Justin Case and utkanos have figured a way in order to have the device rooted and have managed together to get the(CWM) ClockworkMod Recovery just up then running without any hitch at all. Fortunately, both installing and rooting the CWM were quite simple (although you really need the SD card so as to install this CW).
For Rooting:
- You must make it sure that you have this newest ADB drivers already installed in your own PC, as well as your device will be on the Debugging mode USB. Other more detailed good instructions on this are now available here.
- You must download the exploit in here.
- Then you must ensure that your own Thinkpad is really connected into your PC through the USB, is now just turned on then has also this unlocked screen.
- Then you also must extract the whole zipfiule, and then run the ‘run.bat’. Just follow the given directions on this command prompt properly as well as ignore any other activity in the Thinkpad on itself.
In order to flash this CWM, just download this.img ClockworkMod Recovery into this SD Card as well as enter these following commands on your own command prompt ADB.
adb shell
su
mount -o rw,remount /system
echo “#!/system/bin/sh” > /system/etc/install-recovery.sh
dd if=/data/local/cwr_recovery_2.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p1
This is just that easy and simple! You must always be careful especially when this sort of thing is still new to you. This CWM must be safe, but take not that this is still untested. When you have questions, just proceed on over at the XDA thread and ask right there.
