When you are making an update in your Transformer Prime along the newest OTA and have lost root, then we have some good news for you- thanks for the new process found by Saurik, an Android hacker, and so you can now root again.
Like always, we are not responsible when you damage your Android phone. You must be responsible for this. You must need to know how to use these adb commands, otherwise, you must use viperMod Primetime!
And so, you are now ready to do this? Then let us get started then.
Let us see these things first you need to take a handful of these files
After you have downloaded these required files, just plug your own Prime into your computer, then fire up the adb, and then enter these following commands (of course, one at one time)
adb push su /data/local
adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/mempodroid
adb shell /data/local/mempodroid 0xd9ec 0xaf47 mount -o remount,rw ” /system
adb shell
/data/local/mempodroid 0xd9ec 0xaf47 sh
This time, so you must be in the root shell session (must indicates having the sign of pound). And now, some commands more!
chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
chmod 06755 /system/xbin/su
exit
exit
adb shell rm /data/local/mempodroid
adb shell rm /data/local/su
adb reboot
Thats it. Proceed to the Market to install this Superuser application then you are great to go.
The credit goes to Saurik for this root method, and for finding the exploit, Jason A. Donenfeld (zx2c4), alphrevx for finding for the offsets and the initial confirmation in the Transformer Prime and viperboy for finding this and posting it on his thread.
We hope that everyone has learned the lesson and will install Voodoo Rootkeeper also as recommended by the developer.Enjoy your rooted Transformer Prime to the max!
