One of the biggest advantages of having tablets is its big display and users started to love it more when multi-touch feature pinch-to-zoom was added to Android Web browser and photo gallery. You can now incorporate even more multi-touch gestures on your honeycomb tablet which as understanding the demand for the heavy use of touch controls on tablet displays XDA Forum Member created an android app that allows rooted users to control their tablet with various multi-touch gestures.
GestureControl allows users to hide the honeycomb’s status bar in any app and allows you basic system navigation using simple multi-touch gestures. The coolest feature which I have ever came across is that in the paid version of this app, it allow users to create their own multi-touch gestures which will work even when the tablet’s display is turned off at a reasonable $5.00 price tag. , isn’t it pretty cool?
Supported gestures include the following:
Back:
Swipe 2 fingers from top downward
Home:
pinch 3-4 fingers
Show/Hide status bar:
Swipe 2 fingers from bottom upward
The app is still in its beta so works fine with honeycomb device, but the Ice Cream Sandwich is not yet supported the developer has stated plans to fix this in a future revision. For those who are tired of the Android Status bar and want some more gesture-based controls on their devices, the app is worth trying.
