How to UnRoot Samsung Galaxy Gio running on Froyo and Gingerbread

Samsung Galaxy Gio is an affordable Smartphone which lets you experience Android Os without spending much from your pocket. The Samsung Galaxy Gio is a popular Smartphone among first time android users, especially teenagers and the handset comes with an Android 2.2 phone with a 3.2” display, and 800MHz processor. Those who have already rooted their Galaxy Gio devices and running on Froyo and 2.3 Gingerbread, and now want to unroot their devices can find the instruction for the same in the due course of article.

How to UnRoot Samsung Galaxy Gio running On Froyo 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3

Download the rooting package for Froyo 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3 and follow the process respectively:-

Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 (running on Froyo)
Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 (running on Gingerbread)
Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 (Bell or Virgin Mobile running on Gingerbread)
Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660V (running on Gingerbread)

UnRoot Samsung Galaxy Gio running On Froyo 2.2:-

  1. After you have downloaded the first package for unrooting your Galaxy Gio, extract the folder and place it on your desktop.
  2. Enable USB Debugging on your phone through Settings > Applications > Development > USB Debugging.
  3. Enable installation of non-Market apps from Settings > Unknown sources and check the box
  4. Go to Settings > SD & phone storage.  Tap on “Unmount SD card.”
  5. The folder you have placed on desktop, click the SuperOneClick.exe and run it as administrator.
  6. For unrooting, click the Unroot button in SuperOneClick Tool.

UnRoot Samsung Galaxy Gio running On Gingerbread 2.3:-

  1. After you have downloaded the suitable package for you device, copy it on the root of your phone’s SD Card. To avoid risk do not place it in any subfolder.
  2. Turn of your phone and reboot it in recovery mode. To get into recovery mode, hold down the Home/OK (middle) button as you turn on the phone using the Power button. To navigate in recovery mode, use Volume Up and Down keys and to select use Power/OK button.
  3. Select “Update from SD card” and select the unroot package which you have placed in the root of your phone’s SD Card.
  4. Now the procedure will begin to unroot the Samsung Galaxy Gio.
  5. Reboot your device.

Congratulations!  You have successfully unrooted your Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660 running on Froyo and Gingerbread.
