Many of our readers complained about NTP error on their Samsung Galaxy S. In the section below we have disused the rectification for this problem. Have a look
What is MTP?
Whenever you connect your Smartphone to the PC then instead of connecting with PC/laptop, it displays “initializing” on the screen with lot of flickering. This continues until the device is “locked”. On unlocking the device, the screen does not stop flickering and continues with “Initializing” being displayed on the screen.
Procedure to rectify the MTP error on Samsung Galaxy S:
If your phone is giving such troubles then follow the instructions stated below:
- Now, unplug your Samsung Galaxy S and follow Applications >> Settings then tap on About Phone followed by a tap on USB Settings. Under USB, settings select Mass Storage option.
- Connect the phone to PC with help of a compatible USB drive. (disable KIES, antivirus and firewalls before connecting)
- Wait for proper detection of phone and open My Computer. There you find two new storage units resembling phone and SDcard.
- Now, download “File searcher for Kies” from a trustworthy location over internet.
- Execute “File searcher for Kies”. Then a new window will open-up on the computer screen.
- Click on Search button. It will then ask path for the removable drives to be scanned.
- It will start searching the corrupt file and the files with extra-long extensions.
- After completion of the scan, the list of problematic files will be displayed.
- Now user can manually remove them from the phone or SDcard (as applicable)
After removing, those file detach the phone and reboot it. This procedure is tried and tested therefore we are sure about its effectiveness.
In 1%, cases there might be some other factors responsible for the problem. If the trick fails then the secondary option will be to restore the factory settings. Restore factory settings only when the procedure discussed above ends in a failure because after factory-restore you will need to configure many settings.
Now, if your bad luck is on its peak and none of the two procedures helped in sorting the problem then ask for official support from Samsung. You can also make a warranty claim if applicable.
